Water Baptism

We must understand that the Holy Ghost has different functions in the Scripture. There is the convicting the world of sin (John 16:8), the revealing and equipping function (Isaiah 61:1-2, Luke 4:18-19, John 14:26; 16:13) and the saving function of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Titus 3:4-7). In Joel 2:28-32 it was prophesied that miraculous power from the Holy Ghost would come upon certain individuals in equipping them with miraculous gifts in the infant church (Acts 2- Jews, Acts 10:47- Gentiles). Peter preached the same plan of salvation that he preached on the Day of Pentecost in that...

Repentance

Many people think that repentance and remorse are the same thing. They wrongly believe that repentance is some sort of spiritual “fire insurance policy or get-out-of-jail-free card” that allows them to admit fault, ask for forgiveness, and then go right back into the same sin filled life again. The truth is what must be seen is personal change and transformation, not just remorse, regret, and sorrow. What does it actually mean to repent? Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21: Let’s look at the letter that the Word of God begins and ends with to see if we can see anything significant.  Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” We must look to the original Hebrew text to see what the first letter used is. Below is the verse in Hebrew: בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ׃ The first letter is בְּ which is the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet called “Bet” Now let's look at the last word in scripture. The last verse is Revelation 22:21...

2,000 Pigs

In Mark 5 we see the story of the demoniac, who has 6,000 demons (Mark 5:1-20), and they ask to be sent into a herd of pigs. I’ve always felt another layer of revelation was to be seen in this passage of scripture. Let’s dig in a bit!  Why 2,000 pigs? If you study the scripture you will find that 2,000 represents the time from Jesus first coming to His second coming. After Jesus permits the demons to enter the pigs they run down the hill into the sea and drown. Please catch this, when something sinks in water all...

How Do You Spend Your Time???

Posted by Follow Me on

Most people don’t realize how many hours they have in a week. Sadly many excuses are brought up when challenged to how much time is spent in prayer and study of the Word of God. Let’s do a simple breakdown here. There are 168 hours in a week. Set aside 56 hours a week for sleep (that’s 8 hours a night many only need 6), 50 hours for work/school (that’s 10 hours of overtime built in), 20 hours for getting ready and eating meals, and 15 for recreation (sports, entertainment, hobbies, etc.). That is 141 hours a week. That leaves...
