‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭46‬ ‭(NKJV‬)“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”” This passage of scripture in Matthew 27 has been debated for over 2,000 years and everyone seems to have their own idea as to what Jesus means when He said “Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani.” This is the only phrase in the New Testament I have found that has not been translated from the language Jesus originally spoke it. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.” (Malachi‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬)The silversmith will sit in front of the fire the entire time the silver is being refined. I want to break down each level and provide scripture to hopefully bring some clarity to the life...

Nine are found here in Galatians 5: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬) Two more in Ephesians 5: “(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬) The last one is found in Hebrews 13: “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.”...

The word “friendship” is from the word phileo. It gives the idea of an intense fondness that is developed between people who enjoy each other’s company. It describes love between family members as well as other human relationships. It speaks of two or more people who know one another, who are fond of one another, and who are growing more deeply involved in each other’s lives.James wrote his epistle to believers who were getting tangled up in the thinking, the behavior, and the material possessions of the world. One reason we know they were struggling with this tendency to worldliness...
