Wheat vs. Tare

Posted by Follow Me on

Here we see the difference in a mature wheat (right) and tare (left). The tare is light and lacks substance but the wheat is heavy and bears grain (fruit).

What’s interesting is there are tiny black seeds inside the tares and if you eat it, it can cause dizziness, nausea, and vomiting; as well as the tare stands straight up (pride, stiff necked)…

However the wheat bows low (humility, meekness) from the weight of the grain. Talk about the perfect physical and spiritual contrast between the wheat and the tare. One gives life, the other kills. Those in Christ have life, and the other death.

Same for some in the church. From a distance and even close up, they may appear as wheat. Some having the form of Godliness, but deny the power thereof. However Jesus says in John 7:24, “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” He also says, “So then, you will know them by their fruits.” (Matt. 7:20). They may say they are saved, say they follow Jesus, say they are Spirit filled until they reach the threshing floor...

The threshing floor is a place where the seeds were separated. These are the times in a disciples life when the tests, trials, and tribulations come to prove their faith! It’s where the rubber meets the road and how they will respond! It’s the squeezing when the heart is tested and what comes forth reveals what’s really in there!
